SMC Chartered Surveyors are pleased to announce the completion of the sale of Grenoside Methodist Church. SMC acting on behalf of Sheffield Methodist Circuit, have sold the property to a local family who intended to convert the building into residential and community uses.

The substantial church building in Grenoside village, which dates back to 1833, received wide interest from investors, developers, owner occupiers as well as church and community groups. After a period of marketing throughout May and June this year, SMC requested best offers in late July, which resulted in strong interest with a number of offers well in excess of the £200,000 guide price.

The building offered great potential to convert to other uses and residential was naturally one of the most popular angles proposed by prospective parties. The property nearly 5,000 sq ft of accommodation across two main buildings very close to Grenoside Primary School, approximately 5 miles north of Sheffield city centre.

Church buildings tend to attract a wide audience for conversion or adaptation, and it was no surprise this property generated several competing offers. SMC are delighted to have secured a successful sale of the Grenoside church building within six months of listing on the open market.
